snow leopard news bubbles back up

Apple announced about a year ago that an update would be coming to the Mac OS (10.6 – code named snow leopard) that would be an overhaul of the system structure, but would NOT be a big ole interface change.

I’m excited for it for a number of reasons:

  • I have a new MacBook which should take advantage of the new architecture
  • There will be better support for Microsoft Exchange and Active Directory
  • There is talk of using the location services of skyhook to use more location services from a laptop
  • Multi-touch support with the big trackpad on the MacBooks
  • I like new things…
  • Apple has released the first update in months to developers in the last week which leads many to believe they have dusted things off a bit and are getting back in the swing of things and the hope it there will be something in the hands of the average joe by the end of 1Q09. Will most want to or need to change, I’m guessing no, but I’ll be waiting to see what it will do for me…

    Thoughts, let us know.
