Windows 7 Public Beta

Microsoft announced at CES earlier this week they would release Windows 7 as a public download Friday the 9th.

Around 3p Friday afternoon (EST) the download was expected to be available for download (about 2.5GB). After is went online the demand seriously outstripped supply and Microsoft pulled the download to “add additional server capacity”

Thanks for your interest in the Windows 7 Beta. The volume has been phenomenal—we’re in the process of adding more servers to handle the demand. We’re sorry for the delay and we’ll re-post the Beta as soon as we can ensure a quality download experience.

Hopefully they will have something online and operational by the end of the weekend and I will have an ISO in-hand. It is said to be a VAST improvement over Vista and I would love to do some testing with the OS and Office 2007 apps…

We will see if Microsoft figure this out in the coming day(s).
