Mac OS 10.5.6 Hits the Web

10.5.6 Hits.png

Following some discussion and speculation (as everyone wants to do with Apple), 10.5.6 was released today (Monday 12-15). The update weighs in at close to 400mb and addresses a number of issues.

Some items include iChat, graphics, mail, mobileme and networking. I completed the update about 5 minutes ago along with my usual Disk Utility>Repair Disk Permissions.

If you are running Leopard (10.5.x) start software update for the latest and most relevant version for your system. If you are running Tiger (10.4.x) there is a security update for you…

As always, take your time applying these updates and update as soon as possible.

UPDATE: If you have any issues with the update of 10.5.6, check out this tech note from Apple about possible problems with the update… A few solutions are offered. One of the “simplest” is to remove older updates and run the update again – the update should install fine from this point forward…
