better quality means bigger files
so in the previous post about the elgato hybrid, i mentioned the quality was what i was expecting. digital (and in some cases HD over-the-air quality which looks GREAT). that being said – 1 hour of digital/high quality video weighs in at about 6GB!
i recall using an elgato system a couple of years ago with standard def cable broadcasts and i was looking at 1.2GB max. now for every hour you need about 6GB of storage. that being said – if you want to drop the image onto an iPod (iPhone), the system does a GREAT job of keeping some good quality and bringing the file size (in “fastest” mode) to about 600MB.
