3G network coming to ATT (trough 2008)

One of the biggest comments (i have stated this too) is that the EDGE network ATT uses for data is rather slow way of pushing data around (especially in a mobile world with tools like the iphone).

ATT announced that through 2008 they will extend the 3G network to 80 additional cities around the US (covering the top 100).

With the advent of an updated iPhone this week (with more storage) this begs the question of how this technology will make its way into a phone that has a 2 year contract life and costs a pretty penny.

We will have to see, but good news for many that would like to move to an iPhone but have been a bit gun shy due to the cellular network speeds.
