google maps WITHOUT GPS

google is working on a maps (available mobile in beta) that uses the cell sites to get an approximate location of you and your phone… this is really cool. many wireless companies have been disabling the GPS feature of the phone (aside from 911 calls) for everyday use.

with tools like telenav (and a subscription fee) you can get other phones to do this, but what if you just want to look real quick as to where you are and which way you need to go? google seems to be doing the right thing!

the next thing i want to see is this version of google maps incorporated into the iPhone – PLEASE! have a blackberry or another phone that will support google maps mobile, check it out!
