in 2007!

so i’m taking a step away from technology for one post (right now). Kenji Nagai, a Japanese Photographer was shot dead while photographing the military’s crack-down on the week-long protest by monks and the general population that started due to rising fuel costs.

what amazes me (and mostly because I am in a sheltered, privileged, “free” country of the USA) is that could actually happen!

yesterday i met some friends downtown and i strolled past “ground zero”. i have become somewhat blase about the whole thing, but that day will never disappear from my memory). it is a good reminder that i should never take these things (“freedom”) for granted.
