Google’s Airstrip

So this is AWESOME.  Check out the NYTimes Story…

First the Google founders buy a converted 767, then they pay NASA $1.3M to keep it and use it from their facility about 10 minutes from the campus at Moffett Field.  Now imagine, your rich enough to own a few planes (including a plane that is designed to carry close to 200 people) and you strike a deal with NASA to land and take off from a field a hop-skip-and-jump from work.  While many other billionares have to travel through traffic and other "hardships" to get to their private jets, Google execs can almost walk to their plane.

Google has also agreed to work with NASA to fit scientific equipment on the plans for use while sitting unused or in travel for their business purposes.  Can anyone say envy…
