iphone reviewed

some of the first official reviews are surfacing. david pogue of the ny times has some great things to say (he is a mac guy of course). walt mossberg from the wall street journal also had some wonderful things to say. usatoday’s edward baig also had good things to say about the iphone.

walt stated:
We have been testing the iPhone for two weeks, in multiple usage scenarios, in cities across the country. Our verdict is that, despite some flaws and feature omissions, the iPhone is, on balance, a beautiful and breakthrough handheld computer. Its software, especially, sets a new bar for the smart-phone industry, and its clever finger-touch interface, which dispenses with a stylus and most buttons, works well, though it sometimes adds steps to common functions.

the real test will be when someone from pc mag or something like that gets their hands on the thing – then we will see what they have to say…

overall, the reports are the keyboard takes some getting used to, but after a few days – very manageable. the simplicity is stunning – one button to take you “home”. the network seems to be the shortfall (att wireless) which really stinks since they have an exclusive until 2009…

friday, friday, friday…
