my macbook started acting up recently… granted, it was dropped… the battery started showing that it was not charging, but was connected and all else worked fine. i followed apple’s support page to find out more about resetting it and getting it “reconnected”. all to no avail.
i called apple and after a few minutes on the phone, the rep said he would send out a replacement battery! imagine that, proactive – no “well try this again”. he just took my word for the troubleshooting i did and was ready to send me a replacement.
of course my worry was that upon receiving a new battery it would not work either (or charge). on business day later i got the box from apple, stripped all the plastic off the battery and swapped. ta da! battery started charging, continued charging and shows charged at this point! yeah!
