nike announced that all of their shoes would be nike+ compatible by the end of 2007. sounds great, but i’m still trying to figure out if the shoes are what has bothered my feat since the end of 2006.
i think one of the biggest thing i heard from many people is that changing the type of shoes you run in can be very hard on the body. i spent a number of years running in new balance 1020’s. they were very comfortable and i never had a problem.
this fall after switching to the nike+ shoes (during the summer months) i started having pains in the arch of my foot – for the first time in years of running quite a bit. after talking to some friends and physical therapists – the censuses is that changing shoes could have done this…
more to come. the big test is that i have been resting my foot and feel like it is “better” but i have not run in months… shall see and i think when i return to running – i will do so with the new balance shoes.
